Reflections on life
- life is followed by death and the re-use of the atoms and molecules that happened to constitute us in those last moments – when Sam Shepard aka Floating Points mentioned in a recent Guardian article how could imagine his deceased collaborator Pharoah Sanders “in the cosmos, hearing music”, this resonated with me more in the sense of being music, of providing the atoms to be vibrated, or even being assumed into something else that produces music
- our conscious lives can be considered to be the (currently) ultimate expression of self-awareness that the universe can provide itself
- we contribute to the overall development of conscious life and of the technologies which we have accumulated and continue to develop
- there is (sometimes alas, sometimes thankfully) a very wide spread in the way humans live their lives and contribute to our development
- as conscious living creatures, we should be grateful for that consciousness and care for the environments that gave and sustain this consciousness
